Rheumatoid Arthritis 2
One of the most common forms of arthritis, rheumatoid
arthritis (RA) is a chronic disease, characterized mainly by inflammation of
the lining, called synovium, of the joints. The condition can lead to damage
in the long term of the joints, thus resulting to chronic pain, loss of
function, and eventually, disability.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Symptoms
One of the forms of arthritis commonly occurring
among persons aged 60 and above, rheumatoid arthritis is a result of
a defective immune system which turns on the body in reaction to a
particular stimulus. In this regard, it is not unlike an allergy
where the immune system, after being exposed to an allergen, reacts
by attacking the body.

Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic disorder for
which there is no known cure. Because rheumatoid arthritis presents
itself in many different forms and ways, treatment must be designed
for the individual, taking into account the severity of the
arthritis, other medical conditions and lifestyle. It therefore
requires a comprehensive program that combines medical, social and
emotional support for the patient.

Septic Arthritis
Septic arthritis poses the biggest threat to young
children and the elderly as their immune systems can be compromised due to
their age. This disease should not be taken lightly as it has a tendency to
damage bone cartilage as well as creating septic shock which can be fatal.

What Causes Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease; this means
that your immune system attacks other parts of your body resulting to
redness, pain, swelling or a hot feeling in the lining of a joint, the place
where two or more bones come together. This redness, pain, swelling and heat
around the joint is called inflammation. The inflammation may also affect
other internal organs such as the eyes, lungs or heart, but the most common
places are the hands or feet.

What is Arthritis?
One of the leading causes – if not the leading cause – of
disability in the United States is arthritis. This means that over 16
million adults are forced to limit their activities because of their
arthritic condition.
